Reza Aslan publishes new book on God
On Nov. 7, my newest book will be released, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you all. God: A Human History narrates the history of religion as a remarkably cohesive attempt to understand the divine by giving it human traits and emotions — often with devastating consequences.
I hope you will consider PRE-ORDERING the book before November 7 from your favorite on-line book seller. In this book market pre-orders make all the difference!
Once you pre-order the book you can fill out the form at
and not only will you get a signed bookplate from me, you’ll also get access to an exclusive essay you won’t be able to find anywhere else (not even in the book), titled: “The Origin of Satan.”
Of all the books I’ve written, this one was by far the hardest and most personal. That’s because it’s more than just a history of how we’ve humanized God. It’s also an appeal to stop foisting our own human compulsions onto the divine, and instead to develop a more expansive view of God. I hope this book will launch a much needed conversation about how we interpret faith and how we live spiritual lives… regardless of whether we believe in God or not
