John Bolton’s ascension to national security is alarming to those with a memory of recent history.
John Bolton claims to be a Lutheran, but he also is a Neo-Christian meaning one who reinterprets Christianity to conform with Neo-Con philosophy that promotes responding with military means to international conflicts.

When POTUS Trump announced he would meet North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, John R. Bolton suggested it should “be a fairly brief session where Trump says: ‘Tell me you have begun total denuclearization, because we’re not going to have protracted negotiations. You can tell me right now or we’ll start thinking of something else’”.
Mr. Bolton made no secret of what the “something else” should be: a pre-emptive strike against North Korea, which he claims would be a “perfectly legitimate” response to what he views as an imminent threat.
Mr. Bolton’s ascension to national security adviser has birthed a radically aggressive foreign policy team uniting opponents of the 2015 Iran deal: Mike Pompeo, the C.I.A. director who was nominated as secretary of state after Mr. Tillerson was fired last week.
The last time a neo-conservative clique surrounded a president was when VP Dick Cheney and Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld helped birth George W. Bush’s war on Iraq.
On Thursday evening during an interview on FOX, Mr. Bolton made it clear that he planned to be Mr. Trump’s enforcer stating part of his job will be “making sure the bureaucracies get the decision and implement it.”
Bolton’s remark reminded me of what I wrote regarding Bush and Bolton’s nuclear deceptions in Heroes Muses and the Saga of Mordechai Vanunu, from which I excerpt:
On 24 April 2004, which was three days after Vanunu was released from 18 years in a windowless tomb-sized cell jail for providing the photographic proof and telling all the truth he knew as a mid-level technician on the night shift within Israel’s clandestine seven-story underground WMD Program in the Negev, Uri Avnery wrote:
Everybody understands that he has no more secrets. What can a technician know after 18 years in jail, during which technology has advanced with giant steps? But gradually it becomes clear what the security establishment is really afraid of. The Americans, it seems, are very worried… The world must be prevented by all available means from hearing, from the lips of a credible witness, that the Americans are full partners in Israel’s nuclear arms program, while pretending to be the world’s sheriff for the prevention of nuclear proliferation. ###
President John F. Kennedy warned that the weapons of war must be abolished before they abolish us because “Every man, woman and child lives under a nuclear sword of Damocles, hanging by the slenderest of threads, capable of being cut at any moment by accident or miscalculation or by madness. The weapons of war must be abolished before they abolish us.”
Many Neo-Christians ‘think’ the second coming of Jesus will occur through a Middle East nuclear holocaust and that they and those who ‘think’ like them will be ‘raptured’ into heaven. This is an heretical escapist theology having nothing to do with what Jesus was all about: the transformation of hearts and minds to see the Divine in every man, women, child, creature and situation.

When Jesus of Nazareth was about 33 he hiked up a hill, sat down under an olive tree and began to teach the people: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.”
In other words: it is those who know their own spiritual poverty, their own limitations and ‘sins’ honestly and trust God loves them in spite of themselves who already live in the Kingdom of God. How comforted we will all be, when we see, we haven’t got a clue, as to the depth and breadth of pure love and mercy of The Divine Mystery of The Universe. God’s name in ancient Aramaic is Abba which means Daddy as much as Mommy and He/She: The Lord has said, “My ways are not your ways. My thoughts are not yours.” -Isaiah 55:8
Jesus continued: “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” The essence of meek is to be patient with ignorance, slow to anger and never hold a grudge. In other words: how comforted you will be when you also know humility; when you know yourself, the good and the bad, for both cut through every human heart.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, they will be filled.” In other words: how comforted you will be when your greatest desire is to do what “God requires, and he has already told you what that is; BE JUST, BE MERCIFUL and walk humbly with your Lord.”-Micah 6:8
“Blessed are the merciful, they will be shown mercy.” In other words: how comforted you will all be when you choose to return only kindness to your ‘enemy’, “For with the measure you measure against another, it will be measured back to you” Jesus warns his disciples as he explains the law of karma in Luke 6:27-38.
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they see God.” In other words: how comforted you will be when you WAKE UP and see God is already within you, within every man, every woman and every child. The Supreme Being is everywhere, the Alpha and Omega, beginning and end. Beyond The Universe -and yet so small; within the heart of every atom.
“Blessed are The Peacemakers: THEY shall be called the children of God.”
