Eyes of the Beholder: The Orland Park Mosque Controversy Prt 1
A News-Documentary on the community opposition and the expressions of anger and even sometimes hatred against a proposal by Muslims to build a mosque in Orland Park, a suburb of Chicago in Illinois. Featured are clips from the public statements made by several foes and supporters of the mosque plan at the village board meeting on June 21, 2004. The news-documentary puts the controversy in the context of September 11, 2001 (9/11) and past community fights to stop mosques from opening in Chicago’s suburbs. This is Part I. Islam.
