“What does God require? He has told you o’man! Be just, be merciful, and walk humbly with your Lord.” -Micah 6:8
On Wednesday Israel’s nuclear whistle blower Mordechai Vanunu broke his latest news regarding his human rights struggle at Facebook.
By Eileen Fleming
On the first day of May, Mordechai Vanunu Israel’s nuclear whistleblower posted the following update through his Facebook and Twitter accounts:
May 2019 ,continue to wait for my freedom ,since 1986 ,this month they will decide again if they will end the restrictions, not to leave the country and not to meet foreigners ,last mount the supreme court rejected my appeal against these restrictions ,the security people claiming in the court ,in secret evidences without me or my lawyer , they use FB as a prove that I am contacting foreigners ,the same by going to church they claim I am meeting foreigners.for that reason I am not writing to any one any message in FB or emails.and not going to church any more , they are watching my iPhone and my computer. The target of all these restrictions is not security or secrets, it is just a way to keep me isolated in this israel state ,after 18 years of isolation in israel prison .So Freedom must come.!Born to be Free.!
Back in the day –between June 2005 through November 2013 – I made eight investigative journeys to both sides of Israel’s Wall in Palestine and became the lone reporter in the world to document Mordechai Vanunu’s human rights struggle foremost because of USA collusion in Israel’s nuclear deceptions that I began to learn about after Vanunu informed me:
President Kennedy tried to stop Israel from building atomic weapons. Kennedy insisted on an open internal inspection.
When Johnson became president, he made an agreement with Israel that two senators would come every year to inspect. Before the senators would visit, the Israelis would build a wall to block the underground elevators and stairways. From 1963 to ’69, the senators came, but they never knew about the wall that hid the rest of the Dimona from them.
Nixon stopped the inspections and agreed to ignore the situation. As a result, Israel increased production. In 1986, there were over two hundred bombs. Today, they may have enough plutonium for ten bombs a year.
When Israel freed Vanunu from 18 years behind bars in 2004 [after convicting him of treason and espionage] it was under draconian restrictions including he not speak to foreigners—meaning media.
In January 2006, Israel brought charges against Vanunu for speaking to foreign media and this American produced “30 minutes with Vanunu”:
In May 2010 Vanunu’s freedom of speech trial concluded with 78 days back in solitary confinement.
On August 8, 2010, Israel released Mordechai Vanunu from solitary confinement, but continue their torture by denying Vanunu the right to leave the state despite being granted Norwegian asylum after his May 2015 wedding to Professor Kristin Joachimsen. Learn More HERE
Nine years ago on the very day Vanunu was released from 78 days in solitary confinement he posted the following comment at my Youtube Channel:
vanunuvmjc ( 1 hour ago)
NO ONE CAN EVER TAKE FROM YOU YOUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH, ESPECIALY NOT ME.
Today August 8.2010,i am free from israel 3 months prison, I survived one more hard life in israel prison,in Isolation,in Humiliations. May 12th, 3 judges of israel supreme court decided 3 months prison started May 23 2010…
Vanunu also published this message at his YouTube channel that he taped just prior to his 78 days back in solitary confinement:
Americans need to know that in April 1999, thirty-six members of the House of Representatives signed a letter calling for Vanunu’s release from prison because they believed “we have a duty to stand up for men and women like Mordechai Vanunu who dare to articulate a brighter vision for humanity.”
President Clinton responded with a public statement expressing concern for Vanunu and the need for Israel and other non-parties to the Non-Proliferation Treaty to adhere to it and accept IAEA safeguards.
However, ever since the silence had been deafening and one reason is the Symington Amendment (Section 669 of the FAA) that was passed in 1976 and banned U.S. economic, military assistance, and export credits to countries that deliver or receive, acquire or transfer nuclear enrichment technology when they do not comply with IAEA regulations and inspections –such as the state of Israel.
On 24 April 2004, Uri Avnery wrote for Haaretz:
Everybody understands that Vanunu has no more secrets. What can a technician know after 18 years in jail, during which technology has advanced with giant steps?
But gradually it becomes clear what the security establishment is really afraid of. Vanunu is in a position to expose the close partnership with the United States in the development of Israel’s nuclear armaments.
This worries Washington so much, that the man responsible in the State Department for ‘arms control’, Under-Secretary John Bolton, has come to Israel in person for the occasion. Vanunu, it appears, can cause severe damage to the mighty super-power.The Americans, it seems, are very worried… The world must be prevented by all available means from hearing, from the lips of a credible witness, that the Americans are full partners in Israel’s nuclear arms program, while pretending to be the world’s sheriff for the prevention of nuclear proliferation.”
