Sam Jammal thanks voters for their support
Sam Jammal thanks his supporters following the primary election in the 39th Congressional District in California on Tuesday June 5, 2018. Jammal did not win but he ran an amazing candidacy and campaign that received much support from across the country
Dear Friend,
Thank you everyone for your support and encouragement throughout this campaign. While last night’s results were not what Jen and I had hoped for, we are blessed to have made so many new friends along the way and to have had the opportunity to be advocates for our community. This experience has brought us memories for a lifetime. Your friendship, support and love were always what helped us get up each day and fight and reminded us of why we entered this race.
I personally left politics 3 years ago disillusioned with Washington and returned after Trump’s election out of concern for our country. The reality is that Washington is broken. There is a large and growing disconnect with the challenges facing the families I grew up with. Throughout this campaign, I have seen that those challenges and the distrust in our politics remain strong.
We shouldn’t wait for others to act and this is why I ran. It is incumbent on all of us to build a better politics and lay a foundation for our future. The divisions of today do not reflect who we are as a people. But this will only be the case if we stand up and engage.
Jen and I don’t know what the future holds for us (hopefully some sleep). What we do know is that we are truly blessed by the friendships of this election and the opportunity to fight for our community.
Let’s support Democrats as they work to flip this seat and win back the House!
A special thanks to all of our staff and volunteers! You have been amazing throughout this fight!
