The Daily Beast on Tuesday and MSN online on Wednesday, published Gareth Browne’s “Wonder Woman’ Gal Gadot Gets Dragged Into a Real-Life Israel-Arab Spy Drama”.

Gareth Browne is a “Brit in Beirut” who writes for The Daily Star, “Lebanon’s leading English-language newspaper [bringing] you breaking news and in-depth analysis on local, Middle East, and international affairs” and The Daily Beast, The Times and Telegraph

By Eileen Fleming

This report will be TWEETED to journalist Gareth Browne and the media outlets who publish him:

RE: Gareth Browne’s repeat of fake news regarding Israeli Nuclear Whistleblower Mordechai Vanunu and the Mossad Honey Trap

In Wonder Woman’ Gal Gadot Gets Dragged Into a Real-Life Israel-Arab Spy Drama, Gareth Browne wrote:

Mossad, Israel’s foreign intelligence agency, has a long history of espionage activities in Lebanon and other neighboring states. Indeed, it wouldn’t be the first time they had attempted to honey trap someone. In 1986, Mossad agent Cheryl Bentov lured the infatuated whistleblower Mordechai Vanunu to Rome to be kidnapped by Mossad. Vanunu had worked on the Israeli nuclear program, and leaked details of it to the British press. After travelling to Rome to meet with Bentov, with whom he had fallen in love, he was kidnapped by Mossad, and returned to Israel for trial and imprisonment.

This American reported in  BEYOND NUCLEAR: Mordechai Vanunu’s FREEDOM of SPEECH TRIAL: And My Life as a Muckraker 2005-2010

Excerpted from CHAPTER 12: 30 Minutes with Vanunu

Another reason for this book: to set the record straight about many inaccuracies the media has reported, such as the legend that Vanunu flew to Rome from London with the Mossad, a victim of a “honey-trap” but the opportunity for sex already existed in London. It was during that dinner after the taping of “30 Minutes with Vanunu” that I asked Vanunu, “What were you thinking of, when you left London for Rome with Cindy?”

Vanunu immediately replied and maintained eye contact the entire time as he stated, “No, it wasn’t like THAT! A tabloid paper published a story with some of the photos of the Dimona I had taken. They never contacted me for my side of the story but they published my photo with a bad report; lots of lies. I knew I was in danger and I wasn’t sure if the Times would still print my story. I thought I would just leave London with her for a few days.”

When Vanunu arrived in Rome at what he thought was Cindy’s sister’s home, he was clubbed, drugged, bound and transported back to Israel in either a small yacht or a cargo ship.

Just prior to being driven to his closed door trial, Vanunu had been inspired to write his Rome flight number and “HIJACKED” upon his palm and press it to the window of the van he was being transported in. A photographer captured his inspired move and that led Peter Hounam, the journalist who broke Vanunu’s story to track down the Mossad agent who had entrapped him. [end excerpt]

“30 Minutes with Vanunu” Mordechai did NOT undergo Israeli Military Censors as is required of Media who want to retain Israeli Press Credentials.

This American writer never sought Israeli Press Credentials but I have written the screenplay:
