Israel attorney Lea Tsemel’s work for justice showcased in documentary everyone must see

By Ray Hanania

Israeli lawyer #LeaTsemel is my hero. Her lifelong fight for justice, for Israelis and especially for Palestinian has gained recognition in a documentary, “Advocate,” that showcases her struggle which has been recently nominated for two Emmy awards to be announced Sept. 28. Everyone needs to see this film.

It doesn’t whitewash anything, the good, the bad and the ugly on all sides. But her refusal to surrender and to speak out for one Rule of Law is inspiring. @ArabNews column. You must watch this film.

My column on Lea Tsemel and the documentary “Advocate” is published in the Arab News newspaper. Click the link below to read the column.

https://www.arabnews.com/node/1909606

I urge you to go online (Apple + offers the film for $5.99) and buy it and watch it and urge your friends to see it.

The film shows the borders of all extremes, both sides, and defines the centrist view of peace based on justice and the Rule of Law.

Violence is not good. But the double standards used to adjudicate violent acts is even more wrong. Lea Tsemel navigates this difficult world fighting to ensure that defendants receive the proper treatment in a country that denies justice to some based on race and religion.

Lea Tsemel also shows that the fight isn’t with people. She is Jewish, Israel and a Zionist. She believes in Israel, but she believes in a just Israel. Her fight is all of our fight.

Watch the documentary and learn. The whole thing. You will understand.
