Beyond the Beltway Radio panel tackles North Korea threat
The weekly Sunday radio show Beyond the Beltway, hosted by veteran political writer and commentator Bruce DuMont, tackles the frightening issue of the rising threats of North Korea’s tyrant Kim Jong Un.
Panelists included Asian specialist Karl Friedhoff of the Chicago Council of Global Affairs who has extensively studied North Korea’s politics. Also participating in the analysis is Ronald F. Gibbs, president of NIPAC (National and International Affairs Consulting) of Chicago, attorney Kathy Salvi of Salvi & Maher LLC, and Ray Hanania, syndicated columnist and President/CEO of Urban Strategies Group.
The discussion is probably one of the first truly in-depth look at the potential consequences of a confrontation with North Korea’s mercurial and murderous dictator, Kim Jong Un.
An interesting aspect of the discussion included comparisons of how the US has addressed North Korea as compared to how the US has confronted and attacked Iraq and its leader Saddam Hussein, and Syria and its leader Bashar al-Assad.
Up until now, the US has taken a cautious, hands-off approach to North Korea, a nation of mind-controlled citizens who view Kim Jung Un as a “god”. But President Donald Trump has taken a much more aggressive stand against Kim Jong Un’s provocations, violence and belligerent threats and sent the battleship the U.S.S. Carl Vinson to protect South Korea and Japan, targets of Kim Jong Un’s threats.
Kim Jong Un has declared that if the United States attacks North Korea, he will launch a “pre-emptive strike.”
Another major issue is how little we really know about North Korea and a discussion about whether or not North Korea does have deployable nuclear weapons or systems to deliver those weapons in an attack against its neighbors.
