Palestinian journalist and photojournalist Tarek Masood, who has been documenting the violent clashes between Israeli soldiers and settler terrorists against Palestinian civilians along the border of the Gaza Strip, was seriously injured this week by Israeli fire.

Masood, who is in his early 20s, was hit by an Israeli projectile explosive and the femur of his right leg was shattered causing a painful injury. The attack occurred at the Erez Crossing between Israel and Gaza on October 23, 2015.

Masood has been hospitalized in al-Awda Hospital in Gaza recovering from the war-related injuries.

International groups have denounced Israel’s use of explosives as a response to civilian protests. The explosives are designed by the Jewish State to cause the most violent of injuries to victims, causing death in many cases.

During the past two months, Israeli soldiers and armed Israeli settler terrorists have been targeting and trying to kill Palestinian civilians protesting against the Israeli imposed embargo. The embargo has been in place since 2005 when Israel withdrew its settler terrorists from lands taken in 1967 and turned into racist Jewish-only enclaves.

Although the Israelis withdrew their settlers, Israel has imposed a harsh blockade of the Gaza Strip that has been worse, restricting and blocking essential food, and essential utilities like water and electricity from entering the Gaza Strip. Israel has shamefully received support from the dictatorship led by General al-Sisi in neighboring Egypt to support the continued oppression of Palestinian civilians.

Just in October, Israeli forces and settler terrorists have killed 65 Palestinians including 15 children. Only a few were engaged in violent assaults against Israeli targets. The majority injured were targeted because they are dissidents protesting Israels brutality.

Masood reportedly is recovering from his violent Israeli injuries.

The home of another Palestinian photographer, Mohammed Asad, who also provides photos for The Arab Daily News, was demolished in Israel’s assault against the Gaza Strip in 2015. The home has not been rebuilt because Israel has blocked the movement of building supplies along with food, electricity and water.

Photos are supplied by his family.

That’s a nasty break! Perhaps you should have gone to Israel to get it treated. Certainly Hamas leadership does.
