Palestinians inspect the damage to a chicken farm in Gaza City’s eastern suburb of Shujaiya on February 7, 2017, following a series of Israeli air strikes.

The air strikes took place the day before by Israeli forces against alleged Hamas movement targets in the Gaza Strip, but the damage was sustained by civilians.

Israel asserted the massive assault was provoked by the firing of a a projectile fired from the enclave that hit a border area, according to an Israeli military statement.

Israeli forces also assaulted Palestinian fishing boats that were docked along the Gaza coast, preventing them from fishing Gaza waters.
