WASHINGTON, DC — On April 22 at 7 PM ET, Muslim Advocates and Reps. André Carson (D-IN), Ihan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) will co-host the 2021 National Iftar. The virtual celebration is this year’s observance of the Congressional Iftar typically held at the U.S. Capitol. This year’s celebration will include appearances by Muslim Super Bowl champion Ryan Harris, actor and comedian Aasif Mandvi, talk show host Samantha Bee, The Big Short and Anchorman director Adam McKay, Muslim elected officials and musicians and more. A full listing of participants is below.

“The National Iftar is the nation’s premier Ramadan celebration where people of all backgrounds can join together,” said Muslim Advocates Executive Director Farhana Khera. “This Ramadan, many American Muslims are still reeling from the health and economic impacts of the pandemic. This uplifting and inspiring evening will be where the community comes together to reflect on the past year and set the course for the future. It will be entertaining, inclusive, virtual and free to all. We invite Americans of all backgrounds to join us.”
