A fundraiser will be held for Judge Sam Betar III who is running for the post of Judge in the 13th Sub-Circuit District in Cook County in the November 6, 2018 General election. The fundraiser will be held on May 23, 2018 at Emmett’s Brewing Company, 110 N. Brockway in Palatine, Illinois from 5 pm until 7 pm. Tickets are only $100 but sponsorships are also available.

Here is background on Judge Betar’s recent election victory in the March 20, 2018 Democratic Primary election.

Arab American Associate Judge Sam Betar III won the backing of voters on March 20, 2018 to represent the Democratic Party as their candidate for the 13th Judicial District in Cook County in the November 6, 2018 General Election.

Judge Betar, one of the first Arab Americans to serve as a judge in Illinois (the other was  judge Miriam Balanoff who originated from Aleppo, Syria), has received acclaim and praise for his knowledge of the law.

He has served for 20 years as an Associate Judge in Cook County, since May 1998, and was appointed in July 2017 by the Illinois Supreme Court to fill a vacancy created in the 13th Judicial District.
