[We apologize for the inconvenience … this interview, originally scheduled for May 18 has been rescheduled to June 15, 2018. Please make sure to listen. Warren and Amal have started a great campaign to launch a national Arab Heritage Month]
Warren David and Amal David, publishers of ArabAmerica.com and Arab American activists based in Washington D.C., will join Ray Hanania on Yalla! Fight Back Radio on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 7 am (CST)/8 am (EST) for a discussion about the campaign to designate April as National Arab American Heritage Month.
You can listen to the radio show live in Greater Detroit and in Michigan by tuning in to WNZK AM 690 radio at 8 am in Detroit or by listening to the show live online using one of the links below:
Remember, the shows airs in Detroit at 8 am until 9 am, but live in different time zones including Chicago at 7 am, Dubai at 4 pm, Occupied Jerusalem time at 3 pm and Los Angeles at 5 am (PST).
About our guests:
Warren and Amal David are the publishers of the news and feature website ArabAmerica.com and are the driving force behind the national campaign to designate the month of April as National Arab American Heritage month. Currently, Arab Heritage month has been celebrated during different months in different cities and state and the David’s have been campaigning to create one consistent month for all Arab Americans throughout the United States.
Currently, they have recognized April as Arab American Heritage month in six states (California, Michigan, Virginia, Maryland, Texas, Georgia) and in Washington DC.
Illinois has traditionally celebrated Arab American heritage month in November of each year.
But the new proposal comes at a great time for Illinois as Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, one of the most anti-Arab politicians in America, has killed Arab American Heritage month celebrations in Chicagoland, and Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner has sponsored legislation to censor the free speech of Arab American citizens living in the state.
