ANERA 50th Anniversary Dinner Washington DC Sept. 28

ANERA, the American Near East Refugee Aid organization which provides funding to support refugees in Palestine and Lebanon, will host its 50th Annual Anniversary Dinner on Friday Sept. 28, 2018 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Washington D.C.

For 50 years, Anera has helped refugees and others hurt by conflicts in the Middle East live with dignity and purpose.

Anera, which has no political or religious affiliation, works on the ground with partners in the West Bank, Gaza, Lebanon and Syria. We mobilize resources for immediate emergency relief and for sustainable, long-term health, education, and economic development. Our staff serve in their communities, navigating the politics that constrict progress to get help where it’s needed most.

That’s how Anera delivered more than $67 million in programs in 2017 alone, and it’s how we will keep building better lives until hope finds its way in the Middle East.

The Arab-Israeli War of 1967 left hundreds of thousands of Palestinians homeless and impoverished. As various international entities struggled to respond, a small group of concerned Americans began working to provide immediate assistance to the victims of the conflict.

The result was the creation of Anera (American Near East Refugee Aid). From these modest beginnings, Anera began decades of committed work responding to the critical needs of the Palestinian people and others caught in regional conflicts.

Come mingle with old and new friends. This fun and inspiring evening will take you on a journey through five decades of Anera’s work in Palestine and Lebanon. Together, we’ll also lay the foundation for delivering future impactful programs, building better lives so hope finds its way.
