25th Anniversary year Taybeh Beer & 15th Annual Taybeh Oktoberfest Sept. 14
David C. Khoury & Nadim C. Khoury, co-founders of the Taybeh Brewing Company, will inaugurate the 25th Anniversary of the Taybeh Beer Brewing Company on Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm,
The inauguration will be followed by entertainment including Dabkeh dancing outdoors at the Taybeh Brewery and performances by the Austrian and Hungarian music.
The inauguration will be followed by the two-day celebration of the 15th Annual Taybeh Oktoberfest celebration at the Taybeh Golden Hotel.
Dress is casual.

Taybeh-Ramallah—Nadim Khoury and David Khoury, co-founders of Taybeh Brewing Company, celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Taybeh Beer, and launching the first Brew Pub in Palestine at the Taybeh Golden Hotel, announce the 15th annual Taybeh Oktoberfest (at Taybeh Brewery), Sat and Sun, Sept 14 & 15, 1-10pm. The festival has been a diverse cultural event in the region since 2005 when it was initiated while David Khoury was mayor of Taybeh. The opening Saturday (1:00 pm) will feature musicians from Austria and Hungary and Rayah Dance Troupe, first place winners in Ramallah District. Jozsef Terek & Friends have the unique Hungarian instrument-Tarogato. Musicians from the Ensemble Varietas will be Iris Krall-Radulian and Daniela Preimesberger-Violin with Marta Potulska-Viola.
“Taybeh Oktoberfest is a distinctive way to promote Palestinian culture and heritage not just the first micro-brewed beer in the Middle East celebrating twenty-five years of premium quality and the first family-owned Palestinian boutique winery with the Nadim label,” stated David Khoury.
Master Brewer Canaan Khoury has 10 plus beers with the limited special hand-crafted brews released just for Oktoberfest: Lemon Sitti Gose, a sour beer with lemon and dead sea salt; pale lager with wild za’atar, sage, sumac and anise; Shatta Ale with locally grown hot pepper; Taybeh Rose brewed with grape molasses aged in wine barrels; Doctor El Sahara is a beer with prickly pear and mint. The Taybeh Beer competition will continue to be the all-time favorite with the first lady brewer of Palestine, Madees Khoury.
Entertainment includes popular Arab star Toni Qattan; ElContainer-Palestinian Rock;
Samer Rashed Gypsy Jazz Music; Jowan Safadi/Free Arab Rock – Haifa. Ibrahim Abu Laban/Oriental Music-Bethlehem and Jazz Duo Ahmed Hawash & Elias Nimri; Alternative music by new talent Elos Byuri. Return favorites: MINA Band/oriental music; Ramallah Band w/Jack Tanous and Alrowwad Cultural & Arts Society. Meropi Makhlouf, the delightful TV presenter will be MC.
Children’s activities: Puppet making, magic shows and storytelling; face painting with clowns; Meeting with Sponge Bob, Elmo and Mickey Mouse; Henna body art and variety of games with prizes. Visitors can escape the crowds and view The Hungarian Embroidery Exhibit and local Palestinian art at the lobby of the Taybeh Golden Hotel featuring Sliman Mansour, Nabil Anani, and Tayseer Barakat. Peter’s Place (Old City) will feature Town of Sanctuary 2000 Exhibit. The Pasta event with Fida, Italian trained chef will precede the opening.

In 1990, Hanania was nominated by the Chicago Sun-Times editors for a Pulitzer Prize for his four-part series on the Palestinian Intifada.
His writings have also been honored by two national Awards from ADC for his writing, and from the National Arab American Journalists Association.
