Reunion planned for UNRWA School attendees
Sep 25 @ 3:29 pm – Sep 28 @ 4:29 pm

Reunion planned for UNRWA School attendees

Are you a person who attended UNRWA schools and are now living in the United States?

If so, we invite you to join the UNRWA Alumni Association (USA) and attend its first-ever reunion.

We’ve put together a great line-up of events September 25-28, including an Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill, alumni networking events, and the national Gaza 5K walk/run!

UNRWA alumni are the best advocates and ambassadors for Palestine refugees and for the Agency. When you share your story, people listen. So we’re looking for at least 50 alumni, one for every US state, to participate in this historic effort and share their stories with our lawmakers on Capitol Hill, encouraging the restoration of funding to UNRWA.

If you register before August 16, you may be eligible to participate in a virtual storytelling training provided by Hikayitna.

I encourage you to check out the full list of events we have planned for the reunion and sign-up to participate today:

Ahead of the reunion, Palestinian runners are participating in a Relay Run for Refugees where they will run from New York to Washington DC to raise awareness about the funding crisis that UNRWA still faces.

To kick off the alumni reunion and celebrate the conclusion of the relay, join UNRWA USA for a reception on OSF’s rooftop. You will be able to meet the runners and network with other UNRWA alumni and supporters.

Light refreshments provided.

thursday, september 26
advocacy day on capitol hill

UNRWA USA is hosting our first-ever Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill, including meetings with key lawmakers and their staff to share how UNRWA’s work is a good humanitarian investment and supports the national security interests of our country.

Participation is only open to members of the UNRWA Alumni Association (USA), the relay runners, and select guests. If you haven’t yet joined the association, sign-up today!

We hope you will join us to share your refugee story and how UNRWA impacted your life.

This event is a great way to give back to the community by raising funds to support the salaries of UNRWA school counselors in the Gaza Strip.

Register for the race and join the UNRWA Alumni Gaza 5K team! Race registration is free for all members of the UNRWA Alumni Association (USA). If you haven’t yet joined the association, sign-up today!

You can also sign-up to volunteer at our UNRWA 101 tent to share your story with UNRWA USA supporters who are hungry to learn more about UNRWA and Palestine refugees.

Can’t be in DC that day? You can still participate as a virtual walker or runner!
