The Forum will be held in Building M, Moraine Room #2.

For Arab Americans this is a major issue. The 3rd Congressional District represents the largest concentration of Arab Americans in the Chicagoland area. Congressman Lipinski has been criticized for not being sensitive to the concerns of Arab Americans, and he has introduced one of the most anti-Arab pieces of legislation to censor and punish Arabs who criticize Israel. The legislation was co-sponsored by rightwing extremist and anti-Arab racist Congressman Peter Roskam of the 6th District.

Click here for an overview of the Lipinski-Roskam legislation which later became the basis for a similar anti-Arab bill that was approved by the Illinois Legislature and sponsors State Rep. Sara Feigenholtz and beleaguered State Sen. Ira Silverstein. (Silverstein has been accused of sexually harassing women.)

Lipinski has refused to address the issue with constituents and media, including this reporter.

Marie Newman has vowed to recognize the rights of Arab Americans living in the 3rd Congressional District and respect them. She said she will give them an open door policy to allow them to address issues of concern to them. There are more than 25,000 Arab American voters in the 3rd Congressional District.
